Preservation Austin Historic Home Tour – Austin TX
I attended the Preservation Austin Historic Home Tour on Saturday April 6th with my sister Carla. I was so excited to see some of Austin’s finest Historic Homes and gardens. My family has been in the Austin Texas area since 1871 and I am in love with Historic Homes, Austin Area History and Texas History. For more information about the Home Tour go to the Preservation Austin website. Preservation Austin was previously the Austin Heritage Society. Also in April I am taking the Preservation Austin class for REALTORS on Austin TX Historic Real Estate. Though I am already a certified Historic House Specialist, I believe in continuing education.

Hyde Park is considered Austin’s first suburb which is hard to believe now that Austin has grown so large. Back in the day, Hyde Park was a rural area. Hyde Park is also a historic Austin TX neighborhood in Central Austin that has had organized historic home tours. Streets in Hyde Park include Avenue H and others. Hyde Park is an immensely popular neighborhood because of its charm and character as well as the proximity to the University of Texas and Downtown Austin.
